Mia Vassilev

Virtuoso Pianist Mia Vassilev started playing from the age of 3 and has performed throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the US as a soloist, chamber musician, and opera accompanist. Recent CD release appearances include Several Times, the chamber music of Dennis Kam, released by Navona Records in 2018, the Naxos album Del Caribe, Soy!, and Ecstatic Records’ MIAMI GRANDS, composed by Michael Torke.

In her hometown of Miami Beach, she is a frequent soloist with the Hallandale Symphonic Pops Orchestra, the Alhambra Orchestra, the Sugar Pops Orchestra, and the Klezmer Company Orchestra in Boca Raton, and is an adjunct Professor of Piano at Barry University in Miami Shores.

She holds degrees, awards and assistantships from Kansas State University, University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music, and University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and is an active soloist, chamber musician and opera accompanist, working for tours and production rehearsals with the Metropolitan Opera (NY), Glimmerglass Opera (NY), Florida Grand Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy, the American Institute of Musical Studies Festival in Graz, Austria, and the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts in Miami, Florida among others.Mia’s hobbies include falling down in skis at high speeds and reading Ayn Rand.
